Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, Dahlgren VA plans to procure ten (10) each PC/AT NTDS type E boards (NAV I) p/n EA-04101-00, by Sabtech Industries, 5411 East LaPalma Avenue, Anaheim, CA 92807, on a sole source basis. The specifications applicable to these boards are as follows: interface circuitry must fit on a full-length PC circuit board; board must interface and be compatible with an IBM PC; board must use only one slot; board must be MS-DOS command compatible and support the existing Government furnished ''Microface'' operational control computer programs; board must have full duplex NTDS compatibility; board must be MIL-STD-1397B type E compatible; board must interface with the ITI low level serial (LLS) switching systems; boards shall have a 90-day return to factory parts and labor warranty. The boards are being procured on a sole source basis because they have the unique capability to interface with the Aegis Computer Center low level serial switching system and Government furnished ''Microface'' operational computer programs. There is a risk proceeding with an open procurement to these boards, since the ''Microface'' specifications were specifically written to operate with the Sabtech boards, versus other manufacturer's products. Additionally, the Sabtech boards are specifically designed to interface with the ITI LLS switching system. GET Engineering boards were tested in FY 94, but would not interface with the Aegis ITI LLS switching system. Simplified Acquisition procedures will be used in this procurement.
