The Naval Sea Systems Command has a requirement for accelerated introduction of integrated towed array, hull array, sphere array, other ship sensor processing improvements for SSN 688, SSN 688I and SSBN 726 Class submarines. This functionality shall be incorporated via rapid insertion of COTS based hardware and software. Efforts to be performed include interfaces to the legacy systems; signal processing enhancements; display enhancements; and incorporation of GFI algorithms. This requirement is called Acoustic Rapid COTS Insertion (ARCI) and is an outgrowth of ECP 1000 which was awarded to Loral Federal Systems (now Lockheed Martin Tactical Systems), 9500 Godwin Drive, Manassas, VA, 22110 under contract N00024-95-C-6535. ARCI deliveries will begin in November 1997. NAVSEA intends to modify the contract for ECP 1000 to incorporate ARCI because Loral (now Lockheed Martin Tactical Systems), as the designer and primary integrator of the AN/BSY-1 and AN/BQQ-5/6 systems, possesses the unique assets and facilities needed to meet this accelerated schedule.
