Naval Air Systems Command intends to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP)
and a sole source contract to McDonnell Douglas Aerospace for hardware
integration, analysis and test of the AIM-9X Sidewinder missile on the
F/A-18C/D aircraft. An integration analysis and test program shall be
established to analyze the AIM-9X launch, carriage, jettison, and
carrier operation characteristics in the F/A-18 environment. This
effort involves the performance of engineering services and support,
wind tunnel test planning, scheduling and conducting, data analysis,
ground and flight test planning, aircraft/weapon system integration,
documentation and reporting for the integration of the AIM-9X
Sidewinder missile on the F/A-18C/D aircraft. The goal of the analysis
and test program is to determine the requirement for a follow-on
flight test program required to certify the AIM-9X Sidewinder missile
on the F/A-18 aircraft in support of AIM-9X development and
