202 927-0386. Notice of Intent. The U. S. Customs Service (USCS)
intends to solicit and award a contract for preventive and corrective
maintenance services and repair parts (supplies) for various American
Science and Engineering (AS&E) X-ray systems used to inspect trucks,
mail and baggage at U. S. Ports of Entry throughout the contiguous
United States, Puerto Rico, Hawaii and the Bahama Islands. The
requirement will be processed under the authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1),
only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will
satisfy agency requirements. The intended source is AS&E, 829 Middlesex
Turnpike, Billerica, MA 01821. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST
FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. Prospective contractors who believe they can
successfully propose must provide specific and detailed technical
documentation to support such claims and abilities within 15 days of
