kilometers of grading, base, paving, bridge. Project includes:

sampling & testing; blasting consultant services; 25,500 metric tons
hot asphalt concrete pavement; 500 metric tons minor asphalt concrete;
19 hectares clearing & grubbing; 210 meters concrete barriers &
precast guardwalls; 1,000 meters log curb; 110 meters stone curb; 170
cubic meters structural excavation; 369 cubic meters structural
concrete; 175 meters bridge railing; 200 cubic meters seal concrete for
cofferdams; 5,000 metric tons untreated aggregate courses; 42,000
metric tons emulsified asphalt treated base; 61,000 square meters
recycled aggregate course; 470 meters culverts & drains; 400 meters
underdrains; 4,000 meters silt fence; 4,400 meters fiber log; 40,000
cubic meters excavation; 16,500 cubic meters embankment; 7,600 metric
tons select borrow; 4,900 cubic meters subexcavation; 19,000 cubic
meters watering; 3,200 square meters roadway obliteration; 202 cubic
meters gabions; 69,200 square meters topsoil; 8 hectares mulch; 35,310
kilograms reinforcing steel; 1,000 meters controlled blast holes; 95
square meters sidewalks, drive pads & paved medians; 85 stone masonry
headwalls; remove of structures & obstructions, 2-1/2 bridges; 13,500
hrs traffic control; 45,500 meters permanent pavement markings; and
other small items of work. Project is located approximately 27
kilometers east of West Yellowstone, Montana. NOTE: This project was
designed under the FP-96, Standard Specifications for Construction of
Roads and Bridges on Federal Highway Projects. Please FAX your requests

1998. Estimated price range is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000.
Presolicitation Notices are being provided to firms on this agency's
mailing list concurrently with the publication of this synopsis.----The
following applies only to Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged
Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of
Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to
assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to
acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for
transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible
prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program
enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to
$1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond
amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the
DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to
provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is
