equipment, materials, transportation and supervision necessary to
remove the existing natural gas supply piping serving the boilers and
emergency generators of Building #8 from the existing indoor gas meter
to the boilers within the boiler room of the building. Approximately
20 linear feet (lf) of 6 inch pipe, 40 lf of 4 inch pipe, 30 lf of
2-1/2 inch pipe, 10 lf of 2 inch pipe, 10 lf of 1-1/2 inch pipe and two
2-1/2 inch gas trains shall be removed. The work also includes the
installation of two new boiler gas trains, new gas supply piping from
the existing outdoor gas meter to the existing boilers within the
boiler room, new gas vent piping from the gas trains to the building
exterior and the installation of a new gas pressure booster.
Approximately 60 lf of new 5 inch pipe, 40 lf of new 4 inch pipe, 15 lf
of new 2-1/2 inch pipe, 10 lf of new 2 inch pipe, 10 lf of new 1-1/2
inch pipe and two new 2-1/2 inch gas trains shall be installed.
Estimated cost of this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. SIC
code is 1711. Performance time is 120 calendar days. Solicitation

date for receipt of bids is on or about June 19, 1996. This project is
issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration
Program, and is unrestricted. THE FOLLOWING NOTICE IS PROVIDED AS

ENTERPRISES: The Dept of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and
Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) has programs to assist
minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire
short-term working capital and bonding assistance for
transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible
prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program
enables firms to apply for bid, payment and performance bonds up to
$1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond
amount to a surety against losses. Loans are available under the DOT
Short-term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide
accounts receivable financing. The max. line of credit is $500,000. For
