This project is the first phase of riverbank stabilization along the Cross Creeks Wildlife Refuge located between river miles 89.5 and 102.5 on Lake Barkley, Tennessee. The Phase I work will consist of clearing and grubbing; excavation and backfill, geotextile placement; placement of stone protection; foreshore dike construction; and landscaping along the riverbank. (The amount of clearing and grubbing shall be kept to a minimum due to environmental sensitivity of the area.) All work will be accomplished from the river and all debris removal and water quality requirements will be regulated by the the applicable State, Federal, and local laws. Limited access through use of the interior roads is available. The principal items of work include site work, pacement of geotextile materials and stone protection placement. Duration of the job is two (2) years and is estimated to be in the $5,000,000 to $10,000,000 range. This will be a Continuing Contract with $500,000 allocated for FY 1996.
