THERE IS NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT. The U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Center is conducting Market Research to compile a list of Work Glove and Safety Glove Manufacturers who are currently producing, and have available, handwear items which could be individually worn or configured to wear as a combined system that would: - provide cut and puncture protection to the wearers' hands, including fingers, thumb, and wrists; - provide some low velocity fragmentation protection to the outward side of the upper arm and forearm, hand, and wrist, but not required for fingers and thumb; - be durable for constant wear in rugged terrain under all environmental conditions; - allow better dexterity (easy hand and finger manipulation) and tactility (sense of touch) than the currently used gloves which are unlined all leather style gloves; - fit female and male population with minimal sizes, possibly adjustable fit for compatibility with standard Army handwear glove liners; - must be able to safely and comfortably operate mine sweeping devices while wearing the hand gear; - integrate (for compatibility) with the BASIC torso garment design; - allow ease of arm movement not to inhibit or cause detriment to the whole soldier in motion. Interested firms must submit within (30) days following the publication of this synopsis, information on their products. This should include at a minimum, an item description which details the material descriptions, any ballistic certifications, illustrations with corresponding descriptive information, previously related experience, personnel resumes, list of facilities (and locations), and any other specific information which the firm believes demonstrates its ability to perform the proposed work.
