Provide alfalfa hay ``ton'' bales, 4'x 4'x 8' square, tied with twine
or wire, grown and baled in the 1995 or 1996 growing season. 1995
season hay will be considered only if stored in a ha storage building
protected against damage from moisture and winter elements. Hay must be
free from mold, rain or frost damage and excessive weeds or other
foreign material. Hay will be USDA Grade No. 2 or better, USDA #2
defined as early to average maturity, i.e. early to mid-bloom in
legumes (up to 25% bloom), leafy (40% or more leaves), fine to medium
stemmed. 20% crude protein, dry matter 87% minimum 94% maximum, acid
detergent fiber shall not exceed 32%. First crop hay is preferred but
second crop may be considered. Prior to bid acceptance hay will
inspected and lab tested by USDA/ARS for dryness and stemminess to
ensure it meets required standards listed above. 535 tons is to be
delivered, unloaded and stacked at the hay storage building at the
USDA, Agricultural Research Service, U.S. Sheep Experiment Station in
Dubois, Idaho, and 725 ton will be delivered, unloaded and stacked at
the Mud Lake Feedlot in Mud Lake, Idaho. Invitation For Bid No.
16-91H2-96 will be available on or about May 20, 1996. Requests for a
