(1) Field repair of a damaged section of the honeycomb installed in the 8 x 6 wind tunnel. the damaged section is contained in a 3 ft. x 1 ft. envelope. Damaged section shall be cut out and a new section of core shall be nested in and spot welded to match the existing core. Core specifications are denoted as follows: Replacement honeycomb core shall be manufactured in accordance with AMS 5850B. The core shall be 3/8 inch square cell, 6 inches thick. Honeycomb core shall be manufactured from series 300 stainless steel foil 0.0006 inches thick. Foil shall be resistance welded to form smooth cell walls. The angle between the cell walls and the face surface shall not vary from perpendicular by more than one and one half degrees. (2) Provide an additional section of honeycomb core per the specifications given above. Size of honeycomb panel is to be 3 ft. x 5 ft. (15 sq. ft.). Award shall be made on best value to the Government, with consideration given to price, delivery, past performance, warranties and other considerations of value. It is anticipated that an award will be made within 10 business days after the date for submission of quotes. This is a a combined synopsis/solicitation. Quotes are being requested and a written solicition will not be issued. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code is 1742. The Small Business Size Standard is $7.0M.
