Project is for the total renovation of the Engineering Section of the Pilot Plant Wing of the main laboratory building at the USDA, ARS, Eastern Regional Research Center located at 600 Mermaid Lane, Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania. Work includes total renovation of the basement level (192' x 62'), three floors (176' x 62'), and sections of the attic space. Work is to be accomplished in two phases over a 21 month period. Work includes architectural upgrades, replacement of the HVAC equipment and associated piping, replacement of the utilities including: cold water, hot water, gas, compressed air, vacuum, nitrogen deionized water, steam, and clean steam. The 120/208 volt and 480/277 volt system will be upgraded including new wiring, panelboards and receptacles. A new wet pipe automatic sprinkler system including a fire pump and jockey pump will be included. A new 2,000 KW standby generator is included as an option. The estimated price range is between $3 million and $5 million. Completion time is to consist of two phases with twelve months for the basement and first floor, followed by eight months for the remainder, with a one-month phase to relocate personnel and equipment, for a total of twenty- one months.
