presolicitation notice. Bid issue date is approximately 27 June; bid
opening approximately 26 July l996. Bid packets will be available for
$250.00 and this will be nonrefundable. The work will include that the
contractor provide all personnel, materials, support equipment, labor,
tools, surveys, self-contained storage and housing required for a
proper and complete project. Work shall include but not limited to
general site work associated with demolition and installation of
concrete foundations, all excavation work for backfill, sidewalk
installation, demolition and installation of existing and new
underground utilities for the chiller systems. Demolition of the
existing HVAC systems located in the mechanical rooms on all three
floors of the facility. Installation of new HVAC systems including a
new air distribution, new plumbing (hydronic, water,gas) and assoc
equipment to support this installation on all three floors to replace
the ones that were removed. Demo of the existing ceiling system with
replacement of new ceiling system throughout the facility. Installation
of new types of air grills, register and VAV boxes will be required. A
general upgrade of the lighting fixtures through the facility will be
accomplished with the exception of the main hangar area. Work also
includes upgrade of the existing primary and secondary electrical
systems. Demo of the existing steam system to include boilers, piping,
insulation, pumps, valves, condensation lines, etc will be required;
installation of a new pulse boiler system shall replace the old system.
Installation of a new infrared heating system in the main hangar bay
shall be accomplished. The facility shall incorporate a new Digital
Data Control (DDC) and monitor system. All testing and commissioning
will be required for the many systems that are being installed. Some
penetrations that are made thru some existing transite walls will
require special capabilities. The facility will be in operation
throughout the entire project. This project is unrestricted. Plans and
specifications are available for review at the Texas Air National
Guard's base civil engineer's office, Kelly AFB, Texas. Estimated cost
of construction is between $l,000,000 and $5,000,000. Interested
