Immunohistochemical Stainer with the following requirements: 1) Use the
technique of surface application of antibodies and other reagents. 2)
Have 510K FDA clearance. 3) Allow random access to accommodate at least
18 different antibodies at a time. 4) Allow use of multiple vendors
antibodies. 5) Stain both frozen and paraffin embedded tissues,
utilizing the same detection kit. 6) Allow the quality of the specimen
be equal to or better than the current manual method. 7) Process
single slides up to batch sizes of at least 40 slides. 8) Be adaptable
to staining methods including but not limited to peroxidase and
alkaline phosphatase. 9) Have a turn around time for completed slides
of no more than 2 hours. 10) Be upgradeable as new technology becomes
available. 11) Be independent enough of operator attention so constant
attention by technologist is not required, i.e. operation must be
''walk away''. 12) Be provided with all line conditioners required to
eliminate voltage variations which could lead to unacceptable
instrument performance. 13) Be self-contained with no special plumbing
and electrical requirements. 14) Have telephone maintenance service
available during normal business hours (8am-5pm EST) Monday through
Friday via company telephone hotline. Additional service from vendor
must be available from vendor to limit downtime to less than 24 hours.
15) Have training provided for a minimum of one operator, with the
possibility of two operators, including all support and operational
facets of the system. Cost of training, meals and accommodations must
be covered by the vendor. 16) Utilize Kinetic mode (heat and air
mixing) processing. 17) Provide a method for the elimination of
evaporation of reagents and tissues. 18) Bar-Code driven 19) Have a
full Year Warranty for all parts and labor for at least one year.
Concerns having the ability to furnish the above must provide written
data proving capabilities to the VA Western New York Healthcare System.
