Administration (SSA) owns twenty-five (25) Fujitsu Communication's
Model F9600VS digital telecommunications switching systems and
twenty-five (25) Centigram Communications VoiceMemo II Model 100 voice
processing (voice mail) systems that are equipped with Centigram's
Receptionist II automated attendant software. Ten (10)
Fujitsu/Centigram system configurations are installed at the Great
Lakes Program Service Center (GLPSC) located at the Harold Washington
Social Security Center (HWSSC), 600 West Madison Street, Chicago, IL,
and fifteen (15) Fujitsu/Centigram system configurations are installed
at the SSA Mid-America Program Service Center (MAMPSC) located in the
Federal building at 601 East Twelfth Street, Kansas City, MO. The SSA
intends to restructure the multiple Fujitsu F9600VS
telecommunications/voice processing systems configurations into one
single telecommunications platform at each PSC location that has
capacity for 3,000 lines. The FIPS resource restructuring strategy that
will be employed is designed to retain the imbedded Fujitsu
Communications FIPS resources to the extent possible such as telephone
sets, ancillary devices, wiring, station cards and trunk cards while
consolidating the multiple system cabinets into one single system
platform. This strategy will limit the system compatibility to the
Fujitsu Communications F9600 digital telecommunications product line.
The SSA intends to acquire a multi-year firm fixed price contract which
will provide a full time (eight hours per day - 40 hours per week)
on-site (resident) Customer Support Engineer at each PSC who is highly
skilled in technical project management and technically certified by
the equipment manufacturers to perform the required engineering,
installation and maintenance services on all installed
telecommunications equipment located at the PSC's. The contractor shall
provide engineering, labor, wiring, installation, on-site spare parts,
documentation and training for all system and station hardware,
software, firmware growth and equipment rearrangements (moves, adds and
changes) at each PSC location over the term of the contract. Only
written requests for solicitation number SSA-RFP-96-2651 will be
accepted 21 days from the date of this publication. Fascimilie requests

after May 22, 1996 with proposals due 30 days after issuance of the
RFP. The resultant contract will contain a basic one year period with
Six (6) one year options periods. The Government will consider all
