SOL 9-BE13-18-6-30P DUE 051096 POC Contract Specialist: Yolande Harden, (713) 483-9953 Contract Officer: Yolande Harden, (713) 483-9953 NASA/JSC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the acquisition of an FMFM System for use on the X-CRV project. This system consists of the following: 1) MMM - 655-20 20 position mount; 2) MMO-15 subcarrier oscillator; 3) MMR-40 reference oscillator and 4) MMA-40D mixer amplifier. NASA/JSC intends to purchase the system from Aydin Vector Corporation, Newtown, Pa. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Threshold (SAT) portion of the Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act (FASA). Note: This procurement is sole-source based on fact that Aydin Vector is the only source capable of providing a system which meets the X-CRV program and schedule requirements. Interested firms have 5 days from the publication date of this synopsis to submit in writing their qualifications/capabilities in the critical areas mentioned above. Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after the 5 days or without the required information will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract, on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
