66 -- UPGRADE TO EXISTING ULTRASONIC INSPECTION SYSTEM SOL 9-WSRE-WO2-6-30Q DUE 050895 POC Contract Specialist: Vernon Brown, (505) 524-5134 Contract Officer: Vernon Brown, (505) 524-5134 NASA/JSC WSTFplans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the acquisition of a Rotation Turntable and the upgrade of the exisiting SONIX Ultrasonic Scanning System. This hardware shall include a rotation turntable, stepper motor and controller, a personal computer with associated storage devices and the necessary software devices to perform inspections. This system will be used as an inspection tool for flight hardware. NASA/JSC WSTF intends to purchase from SONIX Inc. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Threshold (SAT) portion of the Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act (FASA). Note: This procurement is sole-source based on proprietary specifications,and an existing system compatability Interested firms have 5 days from the publication date of this synopsis to submit in writing their qualifications/capabilities in the critical areas mentioned above. Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after the 5 days or without the required information will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract, on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
