Subject to final approval, the Bureau of the Public Debt intends to acquire, on a sole-source basis through AMDAHL Federal Systems Corp., 12020 Sunrise Valley Drive, Suite 380, Reston, Virginia 22091-3433, maintenance on the following equipment for a one-year period beginning June 1, 1996: 2 ea. AMDAHL 6390-A3F DASD, and 3 ea. AMDAHL 6390-B3F DASD. Maintenance requirements include: 1) 24 consecutive hours coverage, 7 days per week, including Government holidays, 2) maintenance personnel shall arrive at the Data Center within 2 hours from notification, 3) no additional charges for replacement parts, preventive maintenance and remedial maintenance required within a 48 hour period due to a recurrence of the same malfunction, 4) contractor shall guarantee replacement parts will be available and that only new, or warranted as new, parts shall be used in repair of equipment. Requests for the RFQ will not be considered an affirmative response. All affirmative responses must be received within 15 days of the date of this announcement, and must be accompanied by sufficient documentation to clearly show the ability to provide maintenance for the AMDAHL equipment. If no affirmative written response is received to the effect that comparable maintenance service is available, and that it is more advantageous to the Government than obtaining this service through the proposed contractor, a sole-source award will be made.
