contemplates awarding a contract evaluate the safety, immunogenicity,
and efficacy of vaccines recommended or intended for routine human use.
The purpose of the study is to provide better scientific data to assess
the potential risks, costs, and benefits of vaccination for policy
purposes. THE MINIMAL CRITERIA WHICH MUST BE MET BEFORE A PROPOSAL WILL
BE ACCEPTED FOR REVIEW INCLUDE SUBMISSION OF EVIDENCE DEMONSTRATING
THAT: 1) the study population has greater than or equal to 3000 births
annually; 2) a functional automated vaccination recording system for
the study population; 3) an unique identifying number for each member
of the study population has been assigned that permits linkage of
automated vaccination records with automated and nonautomated medical
records; 4) automated vaccination and medical records which have been
evaluated for accuracy and completeness (methods and results must be
provided); and 5) proof of easy access to medical records for
validation purposes. The scheduled issue date for the RFP is
approximately May 17, 1996. No telephone requests will be accepted;
only written requests for this solicitation will be honored. Requests
