D -- PRE-SOLICITATION - NATIONAL TRANSIT DATABASE (NTD), VALIDATION, ADMINISTRATION, MAINTENANCE, REPORTING, AND TRAINING SOL DTFT60-96-R-00004 POC Contact: Chip DiMuzio, Contract Specialist, or Bobby J. Jones, Contracting Officer, (202/366-4980) The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) is soliciting the comments of 8(a) firms in regards to it's Draft Solicitation for the procurement of services that will include the administration, validation, and maintenance of the NTD. This service will also include the preparation of reports, and the development and implementation of annual training for NTD reporters. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code for this acquisition is 7379. A five (5) year fixed-price Performance based contract consisting of one (1) base year and four (4) option years is anticipated. It is also anticipated that a portion of this contract will include cost-reimburseable line items, which will be negotiated and awarded as task orders on an as required basis. This requirement is set aside as a competitive 8(a) acquisition under Section 8(a) of the Small Business Act. Since technical proposals will be given orally, and award may be made without discussion, it is imperative that offerors understand clearly the requirements of this acquisition. Therefore, 8(a) firms interested in this procurement shall submit their request for Draft RFP No. DTFT60-96-R-00004 by 4:00 p.m., 5/22/96, and submit their comments by 4:00 p.m., 6/6/96. All comments shall reference the specific section and/or paragraph to which they apply. If the comment is of a general nature and no reference applies, it should be so identified. This notice is not a request for a technical or cost proposal. All requests for the Draft Solicitation must be in writing. All requesters will be added to the mailing list for the Formal Solicitation. The Format Solicitation will be issued after appropriate consideration is given to all comments received.
