Y -- CONSTRUCTION, REPLACE FUEL OIL PIPELINE, PHASE II, PLUM ISLAND ANIMAL DISEASE CENTER, GREENPORT, NEW YORK SOL 7104-3K15-96 DUE 062596 POC Contracting Officer, Christina Beaulieu, 301-344-0252 Y--Pre-Solicitation Notice- The contractor shall provide all material, labor, equipment, and supervision, etc., necessary to Replace Fuel Oil Pipeline - Phase II at the Plum Island Animal Disease Center, (PIADC) Greenport, New York. The work includes installing more than 2,000 feet of a double walled fuel oil pipeline running from the Plum Island Harbor area to the fuel oil tank containment area, the pipeline's supports and all elbows, tees, valves, and other associated equipment; perform all associated site preparation, earthwork and paving; perform asbestos abatement and disposal of the insulation used on the existing fuel oil lines; remove and dispose of the lead based paint from the supports of the existing fuel oil pipeline; remove and dispose of petroleum contaminated soils; clean, demolish and dispose of the 21'' contained fuel oil pipeline running from Plum Island's dock to the two 210,000 gallon oil storage tanks and its supports; and install all electrical equipment and components needed for the lighting and the fuel oil tank filling control and instrumentation systems. The total estimated cost of construction for this project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Time for completion of the work will be 270 calendar days from date of issuance of Notice to Proceed. A pre-bid meeting is tentatively scheduled for June 11, 1996, at Plum Island. Sets of plans and specification will be available at no charge (ONE SET PER BIDDER), by WRITTEN request to STV\Sanders and Thomas, Attention Bob Kondrath, 11 Robinson Street, Pottstown, PA 19464. Supply is limited and will be made on a first come first serve basis. Approximately 60 sets will be made available.
