The T-45A aircraft is considering a modification to its cockpit instrument panel for the purpose of replacing its electromechanical HSI with an instrument that can directly interface with the Global Positioning System to be integrated into it. The purpose of this Sources Sought request is to obtain information on potential Active Matrix Liquid Crystal Display (AMLCD) instruments that could be used for such a purpose. The new instrument sought must : 1) display information in a Horizontal Situation Indicator (HSI) like format, 2) be no larger externally than 4.15'' wide by 4.15'' high (including bezel) by 9'' long, 3) have an active display area not less than 3.0'' wide by 3.0'' high, 4) have ARINC 429, ARINC-568, ARINC-407 and discrete interface capabilities, 5) have anti-aliased graphics and 6) have no apparent delay in the information displayed. The following optional capabilities are also desired: 1) ARINC-582 and MIL-STD-1553B interface capabilities, 2) Night Vision Goggle (NVG) compatibility and 3) additional HSI mode capabilities. Existing off-the-shelf or Non-Developmental Item (NDI) equipment that could be used for this purpose is sought along with catalog pricing. If modifications are required to existing equipment, the cost of modifying this equipment is requested along with a rough idea of the time required to make these modifications.
