58 -- COMMUNICATION, DETECTION, AND COHERENT RADIATION EQUIPMENT SOL IA-2102-S6234674-Z TEAM POC Elliott Gilmore, Tele: 202-205-5414, Fax: 202-205-5466 The USIA, International Broadcasting Bureau, Office of WORLDNET Television and Film Service has a requirement to modernize and replace their existing systems that are used for video broadcast production. The overall effort is referred to as the Digital Broadcasting Project (DBP) which is a multi-year, multicontract effort. WORLDNET TV has an immediate requirement to procure a Broadcast Plant Type Professional Intercom Matrix. The intercom audio matrix unit must perform all internal signal processing in the digital domain with A/D and D/A interfacing on the inputs/outputs. The matrix unit must be supplied/configured for a minimum 125 by 125 configuration with a system architecture allowing for future expansion to over 250 by 250. The matrix system must be compatible with existing government-owned McCurdy Radio Industries series 9400 intercom station units (keypanels). The matrix must provide a user programmable means of electronically identifying individual permanently assigned and programmed stations associated with a particular call station. The matrix must provide a crosspoint access time of less than 100 milliseconds regardless of number of simultaneous users; frequency range of 20 Hz to 16,000 Hz; frequency response of +/-1.5 dB; audio signal distortion (THD) shall be less than 0.1% over the frequency range measured at 10 dB above normal input level of +8 dB; signal to noise ratio in excess of 70 dB; audio crosstalk rejection must be greater than 70 dB regardless of the number of simultaneous users; 120 VAC, 60 Hz single phase power; designed for mounting in standard 19'' broadcast type equipment racks; and allow removal of individual matrix cards or station units for maintenance without the necessity to power down the system. USIA intends to issue a solicitation document (RFP) for this negotiated firm-fixed price procurement by May 1996 with a proposal response date of June 1996. Qualified manufacturers of digital intercom matrices may request a copy of the RFP/Solicitation by submitting a written request (or faxed request - FAX NO. 202-205-5466), to the USIA Contracting Officer at the above address. All questions regarding this proposed solicitation must be submitting by fax or in writing to the USIA Contracting Officer within 10 days after the issue date of the subject RFP. All responsible sources may submit a proposal in response of the forthcoming solicitation document, and all proposals shall be considered by the Agency. This notice is not a RFP. (0129)
