202-205-5466 The USIA, International Broadcasting Bureau, Office of
WORLDNET Television and Film Service has a requirement to modernize and
replace their existing systems that are used for video broadcast
production. The overall effort is referred to as the Digital
Broadcasting Project (DBP) which is a multi-year, multi-contract
effort. WORLDNET TV has an immediate requirement to procure two (20
Studio Production Type Audio Mixing Consoles. The consoles must have at
least 36 separate monaural input mixing channels, each with its own
fader; must be able to accommodate either line or microphone sigal
levels; each fader must provide at least five bands of audio
equalization from 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz with a minumum of 16 dB cut and
boost; must provide 30 output buses, 16 submaster banks, 8 separate IFB
master gain adjustment controls, 4 uninterrupted foldback outputs with
level controls, etc.; supplied in a furniture type enclosure; allow
for full operational capability in the event of failure; and
maintainable by removal of individual channel fade assembly without
rendering the remainder of the audio console inoperative. USIA intends
to issue a solicitation document (RFP) for this negotiated firm-fixed
price procurement by May 1996 with a proposal date of June 1996.
Qualified manufactures of studio production type audio mixing consoles
may request a copy of the RFP/Solicitation by submitting a written
request (or faxed request - FAX NO. 202-205-5466), to the USIA
Contracting Officer at the above address. All questions regarding this
proposed solicitation must be submitted by fax or in writing to the
USIA Contracting Officer within 10 days after this issue date of the
subject RFP. All responsible sources may submit a proposal in response
to the forthcoming solicitation document, and all proposals shall be
