The NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) plans to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ633-73316/994) on a sole source basis to Unitree Software, Inc. The acquisition will be for a Unitree upgrade (560GB-2.5TB) model number UTUP-8 (1/ea.) and Unitree maintenance fee renewal (2.5TB) for one year model number UTMT-5. This acquisition is in support of the Astrophysics Data Facility Branch. NASA's GSFC operates a satellite performing X-RAY astrophyiscs investigations. Mission ciritical data received from this satellite is sotred on a DLT jukebox hosted by a Silicon Graphics, Inc. (SGI) platform -- model challenge DM. The data management software for the DLT jukebox is Unitree V1.9. The Unitree software controls the jukebox, moves data into the jukebox in a proprietary format, and regulates access to the data. Several site-specific modifications have been made to this implementation by the vendor. This solicitation seeks an upgrade to the Unitree site license and a qualified software maintenance vendor knowledgable in the site specific modifications and implementation. All responsible sources may respond by submitting a written narrative statement of their capability, including detailed technical information and other technical literature, demonstrating their ability to meet the above requirement, within 15 days of the publication of this notice to the following address: NASA/GSFC, Mr. Bill Bradley, Code 211, Greenbelt, MD 20771.
