A -- CONTINUING TECHNICAL EFFORTS IN SUPPORT OF THE ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY ANTI-G SUIT (ATAGS) - PKR SSS 96-10 POC POC: Earline Long-Zlotkowski, Contract Negotiator, 210-536-6250 Ms Judith Demos, Contracting Officer, 210-536-6334. The Human Systems Center/Crew Technology Directorate (HSC/CFT), Brooks AFB, TX, intends to enter into sole source negotiations with Krug Life Sciences, Inc., under contract F33615-92-C-0018, Task Order 0016, for continuing technical efforts in support of the Advanced Technology Anti-G Suit (ATAGS). The referenced contract will be modified with respect to the period of performance and an increase in the ceiling price. This extension and increase is required in order to support continued development of the ATAGS cirrently being accomplished under the contract. Krug Life Sciences, Inc. is the original source on the prototype development of this suit, which is currently undergoing design and being fabricated for Government testing. This effort will include the design, testing and fabrication of approximately 100 additional ATAGS and the update of the Technical Data Package (TDP) which will be used in support of the full and open ATAGS production competition. This announcement is in accordance with Statutory Authority 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as set forth in FAR 6.302-1. The Government's requirement for continued development of this highly-specialized piece of equipment would result in substantial duplication of cost to the Government that would not be expected to be recovered through competition and would result in unacceptable delays in fulfilling this Agency's requirement.
