The Virginia Contracting Activity on behalf of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), intends to solicit and award a contract on a sole-source basis to Intergraph Corporation, One Madison Industrial Park, Huntsville, AL 35807, for hardware and software maintenance for the Geographic and Modeling Exploitation System (GAMES). This Intergraph commercial image processing hardware and software enables production of softcopy and hardcopy products required to support DIA, U&S Command, and other DoD decision-makers and leadership figures. The hardware and software involved is part of an Intergraph LAN, and it requires general, preventive and remedial hardware and software maintenance on a continuing basis during normal business hours. Remedial maintenance must be available on a 24 hours-per-day basis during those period assessed by the Government to be emergency situations. This synopsis is a Notice of Intent and should not be considered a Request for Proposal. No solicitation document exists and a request for such documentation will be considered an invalid response to this notice. Responses must be received by the Government within 15 days after publication of this notice (NLT 31 May 1996). Responses should refer to PR 132/0040Z/96-01, and must contain sufficient documentation and pricing of the required services to provide evidence of a potential responsible offeror's ability to satisfy the Government's requirement and thus merit consideration as an alternative source. In the absence of such an affirmative reply, the Government anticipates awarding a contract to Intergraph Corporation. No contract award will be made strictly on the basis of a response to this notice, however, because this synopsis of the Government's intent is not to be considered a solicitation document, but merely a matter of public notice.
