LOW DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE GENERATOR POC Kristen Riley, Technology Program Manager, DE-TPO, 407-867-2780. The NASA Kennedy Space Center (KSC) is seeking a company with which to initiate a Dual Use project for the development of a Low Differential Pressure Generator. NASA currently uses low delta P transducers for measuring differential pressure in spacecraft processing clean rooms. The existing method for testing or calibrating these low delta P transducers at the required accuracy and resolution (0.00025 inch of water) utilizes deadweight testers, which directly load and calibrate the transducers. These deadweight testers are expensive, require strict control of room temperature, and long waiting periods of temperature equalization, conditions that cannot be provided in field test situations. Therefore, a sensor must be removed from service and transported to the laboratory before it can be tested and calibrated. NASA KSC required development of a rugged, portable, inexpensive system for performing precision testing in the field. KSC developed and constructed a low differential pressure generator controllable to 0.00025 inch of water across a span from 0.0 to 0.1 inch of water. This system is one third of the cost of a deadweight tester, can be used in the laboratory or in the field under various conditions, and can be easily operated with minimal training. KSC is now seeking qualified companies to license and commercialize this technology. KSC's Dual Use Program, which offers a unique combination of resources to the industrial partner, will be employed for this effort. Companies interested in receiving information on this technology should contact C. Gary Hughes, Box 12194, Research Triangle Park, NC 22709, PHONE (919) 541-7205, FAX (919) 541-6221, E-MAIL hughes@rti.org before June 18, 1996. For information on the KSC Dual Use Program, please contact Kristen Riley, PHONE (407) 867-2780, FAX (407) 867-2050 by June 10, 1996.
