49 -- ACQUISITION OF PLASTIC MEDIA BLASTING SYSTEM POC Ginny Powers, BOC-110, EG&G Florida, Inc., Kennedy Space Center, FL 32899 (407) 867-7869. EG&G Florida, Inc., in support of NASA at the Kennedy SpaceCenter, intends to award on a sole source basis a contract for a Plastic Media Blasting System to Delong Equipment, Inc. of Atlanta,GA. The specified system will include two (2) each complete blasting units with main hopper and will be in accordance with the following specifications: this system will be an add-on requirement and must be compatible with the existing system located at the EG&G Corrosion Control Facility #1 at the Kennedy Space Center. The existing system has a two-blast nozzle capability, this requirement will be for an additional two-blast nozzle system, yielding a total system capability of four blast nozzles. Additional system requirements shall include a larger main hopper, cyclone separator, dust collector motor and magnetic separator, all of which must be compatible with the existing equipment. The design of the add-on system shall include the modification or replacement of the existing main plastic media hopper. The finished hopper shall be capable of holding a minimmum of 180 cubic feet of plastic media, and shall be able to supply media to all four blast pots.
