synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with
the format in Subpart 12.6 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
as supplemented with additional information included in this notice.
This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. A written
solicitation will not be issued. Office of management and Budget small
business size standard is 1,000 employees. JSC requires a quantity of
8 each IBM-PC Compatible Pentium Computer Systems in accordance with
the following specifications: 166mhz Intel Pentium Processor (in Zero
Insertion Force Socket) Motherboard using Intel's Triton (or later)
chipset for Pentium systems; FLASHROM based BIOS; Minimum 16 MB of
Extended Data Out (EDO) DRAM Memory (60ns access time), expandable to
64MB minimum (at least one memory bank free for expansion); Minimum
256KB of pipeline burst SRAM cache (expandable to 512KB); Minimum of 3
free and usable ISA bus slots; 3.5 inch 1.44MB diskette drive; 2GB
fast SCSI 2 hard disk 10.5ms access speed or better, 10M/bs burst or
greater, 5.5Mb/s sustained Data Transfer rate or greater; Adaptec 2940
PCI based SCSI controller; 6x-speed, CD-ROM drive; Motherboard
integrated 16550-based serial, parallel, keyboard, and mouse ports;
Motherboard integrated floppy controller and IDE controller; Matrox MGA
Millennium PCI based graphics accelerator with MPEG video scaler and
2MB WRAM (upgradeable to 4MB WRAM); Microsoft Natural ergonomic
keyboard; Microsoft mouse; 21 inch multisync monitor supporting minimum
of 1600 x 1200 non-interlaced video (minimum 19.8 inch viewable screen
area) meeting FCC Class B, DHHS and MPR II standards for low-frequency
radiation shielding and EMI. Meets EPA Energy Star guidelines. Maximum
dot-pitch (or equivalent) of 3.0 inch. Compatibility with VGA, XGA,
Super VGA, extended VGA, and meets VESA ergonomic standards including
800 x 600 at 72 Hz, 1024 x 768 at 75 Hz, and 1280 x 1024 at 75 Hz;
Microsoft Windows 95 operating system preinstalled (and on CD-ROM);
Microsoft Office 95, Professional Edition, on CD-ROM; Minimum one year
on-site agreement, three year parts; PCI based combo Ethernet LAN
adapter with both RJ-45 (UTP) and BNC (thin-wire- coax) network
connections; All hardware and BIOS must be Plug-n-Play compliant and
Microsoft Windows 95 compatible; Mini tower or full size tower with
minimum of 3 available half-height drive bays (minimum) of 2 external
5.25 inch bays) and a 180W power supply minimum. Items to be delivered
shall be shipped FOB destination to: NASA LBJ Space Center, Attn.:

provision apply to this acquisition. The proposal shall be received by

77058, no later than the close of business of the fifteenth day from
the date this announcement first appears in the CBD. The offeror is
required to submit a completed copy of the provision at FAR 52.212-3,
