99 -- DISCONNECT SWITCHES; GANG-OPERATED AND TANDEM TYPE SOL DE-RP65-96WN17123 DUE 052896 POC Sharon Bates, Contract Specialist, (916) 353-4469. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information including this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This notice is used as a request for proposal (RFP) and will be awarded as a contract. This acquisition is 'unrestricted.' The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) is 3613 - Gang-Operated Disconnect Switches. The switches shall be a tandem type three-pole, single throw, three insulator, vertical break, group operated, outdoor air disconnect switch with a ground switch. The current carrying parts shall be made of aluminum alloy and tinned copper with copper-to-silver sealed-hinge current transfer points and silver-to-silver current transfer point at the jaw end. There shall be reverse loop contacts on the law end of the switches to provide high pressure contact when energized. The switches shall have sealed weatherproof rotating insulator bearings, positive stops on each switch pole in the open and closed position, insulator leveling bolts at each stationary stack and double channel bases. The controls shall be the five inch bolt circle construction type with two inch vertical and interphase operating pipe. The disconnect shall be capable of 1200 amps continuous and 5000 amps momentary and the basic insulation level shall be 900. Item Number 001 is for 4 each 121-kV Disconnect Switches, 1200-Amp, Gang-operated, Vertical Break Double Disconnect with Ground Switch, Insulators, and Operating Mechanism (Excluding Motor Operator). Equivalent to Siemens Type AVB or ABB Type TTR-6. Item Number 002 is for 8 each 242-kV Tandem Type Gang-Operated Disconnect Switches, 900 Bil. Include insulators and operating mechanism (excluding motor operator), 1200-amp continuous and 5000-amp momentary. Equivalent to ABB type TTR-6, including Ground Switch equal to ABB type AG-7. Delivery shall be on or before 09/01/96. Delivery shall be made to the Redding Maintenance Facility, 1545 Beltline Road, Redding, CA 96003. All proposals received shall specify FOB Destination. The provisions and clauses are those in effect through FAC 90-37. The following FAR provisions and clauses apply to this RFP and are incorporated by reference: 52.212-1 - Instructions to Offerors - Commercial Items Provision, 52.212-2 - Evaluation - Commercial Items (Oct 1995). The government will award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeror whose offer conforms to the minimum technical requirements and submits the lowest overall price.
