Street, Des Moines, Iowa. Job PCN RIA95400. RFP o/a 06/04/96. Estimated
Cost Range: $1,000,000-$5,000,000. Time for completion: 300 calendar
days after receipt of notice to proceed. No document charge or deposit
is required. Project involves: Furnish/install carpet, vinyl and
ceramic tile, masonry, concrete, structural steel, GFRC wall panels,
windows, doors/frames, wall partitions, millwork, fire sprinklers,
boilers, hot water heater, light fixtures and acoustic ceiling systems.
Work also includes selective demolition, painting, glazing, plumbing,
HVAC repair and replacement, miscellaneous electrical work, PCB removal
and asbestos abatement. PCB's may be present in the light fixtures and
asbestos is contained in the vinyl floor tile and pipe lagging. The
bidder, or subcontractor, performing the asbestos abatement and/or PCB
removal work shall meet the competency qualification requirements as
specified in Section 00120 of the specifications and provide bodily
injury liability insurance coverage. Such coverage must encompass
liabilities arising from work with the hazardous materials involved.
The Government will not indemnify against such risks. Project includes
the following option: Option No. 1: Removal and replacement of boilers
in basement mechanical room including controls, air intakes, flues, and
electrical work. Modifications to existing steam and hot water heating
system, including replacement of insulation, connections for new hot
water boiler system, piping, and insulation. Removal and replacement of
electric unit heaters in restrooms. To order plans and specifications
