VANCIL, 805-982-5050 The Government intends to solicit and award a contract for a Runway Friction Measurement Device System, (MU-Meter Mark 5), on a non-competitive basis to Bison Instruments, Inc., 5601 Rowland Road, Minneapolis, MN 55343-8956. Quantity is for one (1) each Runway Friction Measurement Device Systems with operation/maintenance manuals. The system shall be used for measuring runway skid resistance of pavement surfaces at various speeds under wet and dry conditions. The system will have a self-watering system to distribute a known volume of water in front of two friction measuring wheels. The system will meet all applicable performance requirements of FAA Advisory Circular 150/5320-12B and ASTM E670-87. Item to be ordered under a Firm Fixed Price type contract. Anticipated award date is 31 May 96. Required delivery date is 30 Sep 96. Numbered Note 22 applies.(0131)
