Management is seeking a qualified contractor to conduct an infrared
population survey scan of wild burros and mule deer within an
approximately 200,000 acre habitat along the western side of the lower
Colorado River basin from Palo Verde, California to Yuma, Arizona.
Contractor must produce a product consisting of: infrared video
documentation depicting infrared signatures of all encountered targeted
species (the infrared signatures of burros must be distinguishable from
deer); a map (supplied by BLM) showing the exact location, using Global
Positioning System (GPS) technology, and numbers of targeted animals;
and summary report disclosing employed technique and flight pattern
followed, estimation of target animal detection rate, and any other
information gathered during the completion of survey that may have
relevance to determining true and accurate populations of targeted
species. The products will be delivered to BLM, Ridgecrest Resource
Area, 300 S Richmond Rd, Ridgecrest CA, 93555, within 30 days from
