COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MAY 14,1996 PSA#1594

HQ, MILITARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT COMMAND, ATTN: MTAQ-AT (RM B24-L), 5611 COLUMBIA PIKE, FALLS CHURCH VA 22041-5050

V -- REENGINEERING OF DEFENSE TRAVEL SYSTEM (DTS) SOL DAHC22-96-R-XXXX POC Contract Specialist JOYCE GRUDZINSKI 681-3515 (Site Code DAHC22) Announcement of follow-on draft information pertaining to the Defense Travel System. A draft solicition was issued for industry comment in December 1995. A follow-on pre-solicitation conference was held in January 1996. The DoD received many valuable comments in response to the draft solicitation. Due to the in-depth nature and quality of these thought provoking comments and questions, it was not possible to provide many answers at the pre-solicitation conference. DoD is now in a position to provide specific answers to industry questions and, where applicable, changes to the original specifications. In an effort to adopt ''best industry practices'' and encourage dialog with industry on DoD's requirements, the following procedures will be used to provide additional information and request for comments. As it becomes available, additional information will be posted to the Military Traffic Management Command (MTMC) WebSite. You should expect information to be posted on a regular basis over the next two to three months. Comments may/should be provided throughout the process so that the comments may be evaluated and feedback provided. Comments may be provided on any new material, any previously released material, or any facet of the Defense Travel System to the point of contact specified below. A final closing date for comments/questions will be established at a later date, however responses should be provided as soon as possible. It is anticipated that immediately prior to the release of the formal Request for Proposal, (RFP), a consolidated version of newly released information will be provided. The timeframe for comments and questions on this encapsulated version is expected to be short due to the fact that all information will have already been provided. The release of the formal RFP is currently expected to be mid-late Summer 1996. The MTMC Website can be found at ''http://mtmc.army.mil/''. Offerors who do not have this capability may request a hard copy of the information in writing. Facsimile requests, submitted via (703) 681-5714 are acceptable. Comments/questions may be forwarded via e-mail (grudzinj@baileys-emh5.army.mil) or mailed to the above HQ MTMC address.(0131)
