Y -- PRELIMINARY NOTICE - CONSTRUCTION OF A TACTICAL FIREARMS TRAINING FACILITY SOL IFB-6970 POC Ronald Chiodi, Contract Specialist, (202) 324-2459 or 4182. This is a preliminary notice. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has a requirement for the construction of New Tactical Firearms Training Facitlity at the FBI Academy, U.S. Marine Corps Base, Quantico, Virginia, 22135. The work consists generally of the following construction: (1) Site work including grading, soil and erosion control, utilities, asphalt paving, etc. (2) Concrete Foundations, slab on grade, and slab on supported steel forms. (3) Steel frame superstructure, floor and roof. (4) Precast concrete wall panels. (5) Precast concrete roof panels and standing seam metal roof. (6) Overhead industrial steel doors and frames, aluminum windows and louvers, steel stairs, catwalks and railing. (7) Steel and rubber ballistic walls. (8) Rubber flooring. (9) Heating, ventilating, plumbing, and fire protection. (10) Electrical power, lighting, communications, ect. The estimated cost of this work is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. Copies of drawings and specifications will be available by mail only. Estimated release date is May 30, 1996. A Pre-Bid conference and site visit is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, June 11, 1996, at 10:00 a.m. local time at FBI Academy, Jefferson Dormitory, Quantico, Virginia. A 72 hour advance notice is required to attend the conference and site investigation. Bid Opening is tentatively scheduled for 2:00 pm local time on July 10, 1996, at FBI Headquarters Room 6875, JEH, FBI Building, 10th & Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20535. Bids may be hand-delivered to the Bid Opening, or mailed to the FBI Attn: Mr. Ronald W. Chiodi, Room 6875, JEH, FBI Building, 935 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Washington, DC 20535. Mailed bids must be postmarked at least five (5) days prior to the scheduled date for bid opening. Please reference Invitation For Bid (IFB) 6970 in written request. All solicitation requests must be in writing. Specifications and detailed requirements will be furnished with the solicitation, BY MAIL REQUEST ONLY, for a deposit of $200, (LIMIT OF TWO (2) SETS PER FIRM). Bid sets will be issued on a first come first serve basis until supply is exhausted. Bid sets will be sent by mail only. Deposit for solicitation is refundable when bid sets are returned. Performance and Payment Bonds ARE REQUIRED for this project. No phone call request for documents will be accepted. All request for copies of the solicitation must be postmarked no later than fifteen (15) days from the date of publication of this synopsis.
