Postal Service, is soliciting written expressions of interest from
contractors desiring to be placed on a prequalified contractor's list
for repair, alteration and renovation of existing postal facilities.
Projects will range from $100,000 to $1,000,000. Prequalification
statements will be evaluated by the Contracting Officer's staff based
on criteria including, but not limited to, the following: 1. comparable
construction experience; 2. references; 3. experience in the geographic
area; 4. financial capability; 5. project management and 6. company
organization. Contractors interested in being considered for placement
on the prequalified list must submit a written request for a
prequalification package. Packages will be available on or about June
17, 1996, at no charge. Packages may be obtained by written request to
Teri Wilcox-DuBois. Requests may also be telefaxed to 312/669-5959,
ATTN: Teri Wilcox-DuBois, however, a written hard copy must also be
submitted via U.S. Mail. Written requests for applications must be
postmarked no later thirty (30) calendar days from publication date.
Contractors must submit the prequalification package to the Contracting
Officer no later than July 17, 1996. Firms selected as the most highly
qualified will be placed on the prequalification list. Firms not
selected will be notified within sixty (60) calendar days of the due
date. The prequalified list will remain effective for twelve (12)
months from the date the list is established. A minimum of five (5)
contractors will be requested to submit cost proposals for each
facility. The U.S. Postal Service reserves the right to delete from the
prequalified list, any contractor that is no longer deemed to be
responsible or is otherwise ineligible to receive a contract award. The
U.S. Postal Service reserves the right to prequalify additional
contractors that will be eligible to receive solicitations for the
duration of the eligibility period. Prequalification submittals will
