This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice--This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued--This solicitation is being issued as a Sole Source acquisition with REMOTEC, Oak Ridge, Tennessee, for an ANDROS Mark VI-A robot, Request for Proposal (RFP) Number 6965, as a Firm-Fixed Price contract--The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-36 and 90-37--This solicitation is not a small business set-aside--Contract line items are as follows: 001) ANDROS Mark VI-A Robot Unit, consisting of the following specifications: Stair climbing ability of at least 45 degrees stairs/slopes; Capable of 180 degree turn within 42 inch wide hall; Radio control system with 2-way audio; Remote cable control between vehicle and controller of at least 750 feet; Hand portable control module with display monitor capable of being powered by both rechargeable batteries and AC; Operation in wet and dry climates; Disrupter mount for firing PAN disrupter; Vehicle operates on smooth, wet and dry surfaces, to include open field terrain; Arm camera with wide angle lens and auto-iris; Color vehicle camera with remote control of pan/tilt adjustments, zoom, focus and iris controls; Variable intensity lights mounted to each camera; Omni-directional microphone with all weather speaker on vehicle; Robot powered by rechargeable batteries; Payload capacity of at least 20 pounds at full extension; 36 inch horizontal reach capability and 72 inch reach above floor; Charge level for vehicle displayed on control monitor; Maximum vehicle width not to exceed 18 inches; Maximum vehicle length not to exceed 60 inches; Maximum vehicle height not to exceed 50 inches; Maximum vehicle weight not to exceed 1,000 pounds; Laser sight assembly mounted to vehicle for aiming disrupter--002) Shoulder Rotate to include: 180 degree shoulder pivot; Individual switches for each pivot point with variable speed control--003) Wrist pitch to include: elbow pivot, wrist pitch, wrist roll, 6 inch gripper extender--004) Reusable Shipping Crates--005) Wheel upgrade kit (4 pneumatic tires mounted outside of main drive rims)--006) Radio Control System with 2-way Audio--007) ANDROS Fiber Optic Cable Reel--008) ANDROS Briefcase controller (includes ANDROS hand controller)--009) Laser Sight Assembly (fits PAN disrupter)--010) Disrupter Mount Assembly (Fits PAN Disrupter)--011) Training on Operator/Maintenance--Delivery shall be June 19, 1996--The provision at FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors-Commercial Items applies to this acquisition--All offerors shall include a completed copy of the provision at FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items, with it's offer--The clause at FAR 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items applies to this acquisition--Addendum to paragraph (g)-Invoices shall be submitted to the address listed above--Addendum to paragraph (o)-Warranty shall be one year from acceptance of equipment--The clause at FAR 52.212-5 is incorporated with the following optional clauses at paragraph (b) applicable: Sub-paragraph (3), (4), (6), (7), (8), (10), (11), and (15)--Facsimiles of quotes will not be accepted--All proposals shall be submitted to the address listed above no later than 4:00 p.m., local time, May 21, 1996--The right is reserved to determine certain information by requested under the purview of the Freedom of Information Act--The point-of-contact for any information regarding this acquisition is Ms. Theresa M.
