Hackney, Contracting Officer. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has a requirement for one (1) sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) gas generator circuit breaker rated 15.5 kV, 3,000 amperes, 63 kA symmetrical interrupting capability, six (6) retrofit sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) gas generator circuit breakers rated 15.5 kV, 3,000 amperes, 63 kA symmetrical interrupting capability, and seven (7) generator neutral grounding cubicles. Six breakers are to retrofit existing Westinghouse 150-CA-1000, 3,000 ampere airblast circuit breakers. Spare parts and the services of an Erecting Engineer are also required. The circuit breakers shall be three-pole, single throw, fully automatic, single pressure interrupter units with pneumatic, hydraulic, or spring operating mechanism. The breakers shall use sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) gas as a dielectric and as an arc extinguishing medium. The retrofit circuit breakers will be designed to utilize the existing Westinghouse switchgear cubicles, current transformers, disconnect switches, door interlocks and connect to the existing isolated phase bus. Application of the circuit breakers will be in a hydroelectric powerhouse at an altitude below 3,300 feet, within ambient temperature extremes of 0 degrees C to +40 degrees C.
