0203-96. The acquisition, in support of the Threat Simulator Management
Office, provides for 60,000 man-hours and material necessary for
design, analysis, development, fabrication and modification support of
the U.S. Army Threat Simulator (ATS) program Integrated Air Defense
(IAD) Network. This requirement will involve research and engineering
effort to perform in-depth analysis and design in areas to include data
processing, command sequencing, data linking and signal
injection/recording, development of performance specifications,
development and/or fabrication of hardware/software systems and/or
subsystems from limited intelligence data; integration of systems; and
modifications to fielded IAD assets to maintain adequate system
fidelity. The contractor will be required to access Sensitive
Compartmented Information (SCI), COMSEC information, and to have a SCI
facility. Period of performance is 36 months. The proposed acquisition
listed here is a sole source procurement to GTE Government Systems, 100
Ferguson Drive, Mt. View, CA 94039. GTE, as the developer of the Army
IAD simulation network is the only contractor with the specialized
knowledge and background expertise to provide this effort in a cost
effective and timely manner. The synopsis is for the purpose of
