Caquelin, Contract Specialist (410) 786-3076 The Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) to designate an organization as a End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) Network for the State of Illinois which is designated as ESRD Network 10. HCFA contracts nationwide with ESRD Network Organizations (Networks) located in 18 geographically-designated areas. The Networks were established for the purposes of assuring effective and efficient administration of the benefits provided under the Social Security Act for individuals with ESRD. The contract will be for a period of 11 months (August 1, 1996 through June 30, 1997) and the competition will be limited to existing ESRD Network Organizations. The competition is being limited to avoid a lapse in Network activities, ensure continuity of service to providers and Medicare beneficiaries and minimize disruption of Network activities in the State of Illinois. The RFP for the ESRD for the State of Illinois will be available approximately 15 days after publication of this notice. Proposals submitted under RFP-HCFA-96-0011/JAC will be due 30 days from the date of the RFP release. Telephone requests will not be honored. (0134)
