Small Business Opportunity Conference. The Federal Executive Board
Small and Disadvantaged Business Opportunity Committee (SADBOC) will
sponsor a Small Business Opportunity Conference on June 5, 1996 at
Machinists Hall, 12365 St. Charles Rock Road, St. Louis, Missouri. This
event will be cosponsored by the St. Louis Regional Commerce and Growth
Association, Missouri and Illinois Procurement Assistance Centers, St.
Louis County Economic Council, Systems Electronics Incorporated,
McDonnell Douglas Aerospace, St. Louis. Workshops will be offered in
the following areas; EDI/Scheduling a VAN, Procurement Reform, Small
Business Contracts and Women Owned Business Initiatives. Also a Town
Hall period will be offered where small businesses will gain insight
and learn strategies from suggested small businesses and government
contractors. Of further significance, a special workshop will be
presented by officials from the US Department of Commerce, topic
``Penetrating New Commercial, Dual-Use and Defense Markets.'' St. Louis
defense firms should be at the forefront of providing products, both
for our national security needs and for existing and emerging domestic
and international markets. From the beginning, the Clinton
Administration has placed Export Promotion and International Trade at
the center of its foreign policy agenda. The workshop that the
Department of Commerce is cosponsoring with the St. Louis Economic
Council will provide critical information to help companies plan future
strategies and explore the many business opportunities that exist in
the Global Marketplace. The conference exhibits will include major
defense and commercial contractors and buying agencies. There will also
be exhibitions from state and local procurement offices. Guest luncheon
speaker will be Mrs. Colleen Preston, Deputy Undersecretary of Defense
Acquisition Reform. Registration Fee, including lunch is $35.00. For
