220-7421 The work consists of constructing four, three story additions
of approximately 1500 square feet each with bathrooms, offices,
storage spaces and staircases. The additions will be attached to 4
wings of two separate three story barracks buildings.Building
construction of the tower additions consists of pile foundations,
structural concrete floor slabs, structural steel braced frames, metal
exterior studs with exterior insulation finish system (EIFS), and
metal framed gypsum wallboard interiorpartitions. Included are site
work, utility connections for power, sanitary sewer and storm drainage.
Renovation includes upgrading mechanical rooms, and providing
ventilation and electrical upgrades for the two existing 45,000 square
foot barracksbuildings; all for the base bid. Optional Bid Items
include air conditioning with a chilled water unit, enclosing existing
3 story separate stairwells (8 total) on the barracks buildings with
translucent wall panels and EIFS. Includes structuralracing, replacing
110 4' x 4' windows, and replacing the majority of heating piping and
fan coil units.-- Estimated price range is $1-5 Million. SIC Code is
1522. Duration of contract is approximately 16 months. Bid packages

The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and
Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), hasprograms to assist
minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire
short-term working capital and bonding assistance for
transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible
prime or subcontract at any tier. TheDOT Bonding Assistance Program
enables firms to apply for bid, payment, and performance bonds up to
$1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on
the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available
under theDOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates
to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit
