Smith,21 5/656-6091 The contractor shall provide all necessary labor,
materials and supervision to perform the services described below at
the George H. Fallon Federal Office Building, 31 Hopkins Plaza,
Baltimore, MD 21202. Project includes a base bid and four options. The
base and first three options each cover a quadrant of the plaza. The
fourth option is the cost to repair the city portion on the north side
of the plaza. The work involves the following: Removing existing plaza
surfacing and waterproofing down to the existing structural slab,
removing granite cove base at window and building walls, performing
asbestos abatement and sealing of ACM at base, removing existing
designated planters and fountains on plaza, installing new hot melt
asphalt waterproofing, drainage board, insulation, concrete and granite
paver surfacing, secure selected granite wall panels and caulk panel
joints, removing and re-installing selected granite wall panels,
removing and re-installing granite railings and copings, installing two
(2) new granite panels and copings and installing new granite filler
pieces along perimeter railing and building window wall. This project
is designed in metric. The construction will also be completed in
metric. All shop drawings, submittals, etc. will be required to be
submitted in metric. Definitive responsibility criteria is spelled out
in detail in the solicitation and evidence of this criteria must be
submitted in a technical bid. Among the criteria that must be met are:
The contractor shall be approved by the waterproofing materials
manufacturer with a minimum of five (5) years experience installing the
specified product. The contractor shall submit written evidence, from
the membrane manufacturer that he has been an Approved Applicator for
five (5) years and that he is eligible to provide the guarantee. A copy
of the guarantee proposal, certified by the manufacturer, shall also be
submitted. Additional information concerning definitive responsibility
criteria can be found by obtaining a copy of the solicitation. Night
work is required for demolition of the plaza deck. Also, the drilling
of the granite panels is night work except on the West elevation of the
building. The estimated cost range for this project is between
$1,000,000 and $5,000,000. This procurement is issued under the Small
Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program and is unrestricted.
