This is amendment 001 to the synopsis/solicitation N00421-96-R-1075 for a 1GHZ - 8GHZ Amplifier System that originally appeared in the CBD on Thursday, April 25, 1996, Issue No. PSA-1581. The purpose of this amendment is to answer questions from potential offerors. The following are the questions and answers pertaining to this procurement to date: (1) QUESTION: Requirement: Gain Control with 35 dB of adjustment range is required. Is the gain to be controlled from the front panel, remote control station, or both? ANSWER: The gain control should be located on the front panel. (2) QUESTION: Requirement: Noise Power Density no greater than 60 dBm/Hz. Normally, TWTA Noise Power Density is specified in (-) dBm/Hz. Is it possible that a (-) sign has been omitted? ANSWER: Yes, the (-) sign was omitted. (3) QUESTION: An amplifier ''system'' is specified. Is it the intention that the amplifier(s) required to meet the specification be installed by the contractor in a rack or enclosure as part of the subject procurement?: ANSWER: Separate amplifiers are acceptable. Provisions for rack mounting are required, but the amplifiers do not need to be placed in a cabinet by the manufacturer. (4) QUESTION: Line power is not specified. What are the input power requirements? ANSWER: Either single phase 115VRMS single phase, 208VRMS (L-L) or 115VRMS 3 phase, 60Hz is acceptable. (5) Requirement: the contractor shall deliver CLIN 001 with the Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) within 30 days after contract award. Is this a firm requirement? Will responses with delivery schedules outside the 30 day time period be considered non-responsive. ANSWER: The 30 day delivery schedule is a firm requirement. Responses with delivery schedules outside the 30 day time period shall be considered non-responsive. Responses to this solicitation should include acknowledgment of receipt of this amendment. The proposal due date of 29 May 1996 remains unchanged.
