A -- SOURCES SOUGHT, PHYSICAL SECURITY TECHNOLOGY SOL N47408-96-R-6341 PHYSICAL SECURITY TECHNOLOGY DUE 061596 POC Procurement Technician, Fusako Winchester, 805-982-5098 The Navy is conducting a market survey to identify potential vendors for low cost security hardware and innovative new technology that provides interior and exterior protection, detection, surveillance for the prevention of theft and vandalism at closed Navy bases in a caretaker mode. The objective is to identify commercially available technology that can be used to reduce overall cost and personnel requirements while enhancing security. The criteria used for identifying the Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) will include the following assumptions and conditions. The system must be a cost effective, reliable, flexible system providing the basic required functions without costly options. The system must have low potential for false alarms. The IDS must be quick and easy to install, program, operate, and remove from both the protected locations and control center. Telephone service may not be available at all locations. IDS communication's link to the control center must be quick and easy to setup, maintain and remove. IDS must easily interface will all alarm control centers. Electric power service, 120 VAC, may not be available at all locations. Redeployable systems which can be moved from base to base are sought. The intrusion detection technology can include infrared, low light night optics, radar, microwave, acoustics, or other sensor techniques. Intrusion detection devices which automatically provide an alarm to the remote operator when intrusion is detected is especially sought.
