28 -- CY97 AIR FORCE FIGHTER ENGINES POC Michael L. Grove, Contracting Officer, (513) 255-2619/Peggy Conner, Buyer. Aeronautical Systems Center, Propulsion Development System Office (ASC/LP), plans to place an order for nine (9) F100-PW-229 F-15 spare engines against the existing Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract awarded to United Technologies Corp, Pratt & Whitney, Government Engines and Space Propulsion, on 28 Jan 94. This Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract covers users requirements of fighter weapon system platforms for both domestic and Foreign Military Sales. Orders were planned in the basic contract. The current acquisition encompasses combat aircraft production engines, engineering assistance to production and service (EAPS), data, warranty, and associated items including inspection and testing, and engine software, as specified by contract line item numbers 0056, 0068, and 0072. The required engines are fully developed, qualified, and have demonstrated the capability to support the missions of users for DoD fighter aircraft currently utilizing the F100-PW-229 engine. The contractor is authorized to receive and store classified material up to and including Secret classification. The contractor receiving this award is classified as a large business.
