37 -- PLOT HARVESTER SOL Solicitation Number 11-3K06-96 POC Contact Sharon Boykin, Contract Specialist on Telephone No. 301-344-3125 or Fax No. 301-344-3354 The USDA, Agriculture Research Services requires a self- propelled plot harvester that harvest high yielding and small grain crops and is easy to operate, set up, drive, clean, and maintain. The maximum machine height shall be 12 feet with a hydrostatic transmission; an engine with 100 horse power; wheel tread adjustable from 90 inches to 120 inches on the center; and diesel. The tables must be 12.5 feet wide with automatic height control, reel height, and fore-aft adjustments. The harvester must be able to collect, identify, weigh, detect moisture, and store 90 bushels of grain. It must have a 3 row, 30 inch corn head with wheel shields; a straw chopper; and a chaff spreader. The cab of the plot harvester must be large enough to efficiently mount and operate the sensing and recording equipment; house an extra operator; and environmentally controlled, pressurized, heated, and air conditioned. All adjustments to the harvester must be able to be performed from within the cab. The harvester must have cab, instrument, and field lights for night operation and have warning flashers. The threshing cylinder must be fully adjustable to a 40 inches width. The following equipment shall also be provided capable of being mounted to the machine: Distance counter for stop-and-go harvesting, GPS equipment, yield-on-the go equipment, and a data center.
