59 -- ALTERA ERASABLE PROGRAMMABLE LOGIC DEVICES (EPLDS) SOL N00421-96-R-1095 DUE 071596 POC Katie Nepini, Contracting Officer, (301) 342-1227. The Common Airborne Instrumentation System (CAIS) Joint Program Office, Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, Maryland, has a requirement for Altera Erasable Programmable Logic Devices (EPLDs) which are used within the CAIS. The CAIS is a general purpose flight test data acquisition system capable of meeting the flight test instrumentation requirements of the Navy, Army, and Air Force. The quantities and part numbers of the EPLDs required are as follows: 1) EP610DM-35 - 384 each, 2) EP910JM-40 - 479 each, 3) EPM5130WM883B - 135 each, 4) EPM7192EGM160-15 - 135 each, and 5) EPM7256EWM-20 - 725 each. The EPLDs identified are an intregal component of highly specialized circuit boards used for flight data acquisition. Under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements, it is anticipated that negotiations will be conducted with Altera Corporation's distributors on a sole source basis. In order to maintain physical, functional, and electronic compatibility within the CAIS circuit boards, it is essential that the EPLDs be obtained from Altera. The use of other EPLDs would require a complete redesign of the CAIS circuit boards. The contract will be firm fixed price with delivery to the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, Maryland. It is anticipated that a Request for Proposal (RFP) will be issued on or before 14 June 1996. Competition is being sought among Altera's distributors. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which will be considered by the agency. It is requested that interested parties submit their request for a copy of the RFP in writing to the following address: Department of the Navy, Common Airborne Instrumentation System Joint Program Office, MS 01 Building #1492, Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, MD 20670-5304, or via facsimile at (301) 342-7639. See Numbered Note: 22. (0136)
