Wright-Patterson AFB OH has a requirement for a graphite heat
treat/sintering furnace and process control system. Equivalent to
Materials Research Furnace Inc. model T-20X16-G-3000-V/G top loading
graphite heat treating/sintering furnace. This heat treating/sintering
furnace will be used for the carbonization and graphitization of
carbon-carbon composite materials. The furnace shall be able to reach
and sustain temperatures to 3000 degrees C. The furnace shall also be
computer controlled with a means to program the temperature profile and
monitor the process as well as collect data. The furnace shall also
have a vacuum pump-down and process gas system to control the
environment inside the furnace. Entire unit including all accessories
shall have dimensions not to exceed 5' X 8' X 6' high. Contractor shall
provide installation, inspection, and demonstration of operation of all
installed equipment by a manufacturer's representative. This
solicitation will be issued approx 96 May 27. All responsible sources
may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered. No
tel requests. Only written or faxed requests received directly from
the requestor are acceptable. Direct all requests for solicitations and

for this acquisition. The only purpose of the Ombudsman is to receive
and communicate SERIOUS concerns from potential offerors when an
offeror prefers not to use established channels to communicate his/her
concern during the proposal development phase of this acquisition.
Potential offerors should use established channels to request
information, pose questions, and voice concerns before resorting to use
of the Ombudsman. Potential offerors are invited to contact ASC's
