C -- PROVIDE A/E SERVICES TO DESIGN PROJECT NO. 645-96-601 SITE PREP FOR TELEPHONE REPLACEMENT SOL PRJ. #645-96-601 DUE 061496 POC germaine e. talbot Provide A/E services to design Prj. #645-96-601 Site Prep for Telephone Replacement. A/E will be required to design installation of telephone raceways/conduits between all buildings from the location where telephone service enters the property. Install a complete conduit system within each bldg. to branch to all rooms. Design fiber optic closets on each floor. Design shall also include a system for a hospital-wide intercom system for overhead paging capability. Telephone conduit system shall terminate at patient bedside or office desk into a triplex jack. Evaluate existing rooms to determine a triplex jack. Evaluif they should be enlarged or if new locations and rooms should be designed. Design shall be done in accordance with EIA/TIA 568 & 569 Standards. Terminations shall be done in accordance with 568A. Services will include: 1. Preliminary Site Investigations - perform complete site investigation and survey to evaluate the existing conduit and available space for new conduit. Survey existing raceway/conduit system to determine infrastructure capabilities, age, reliability, serviceability, capacity and compliance with present day codes. Review system capabilities and facility needs. 2. Design Development - review existing as-built information and coordinate for a telephone system. Prepare complete site prep telephone drawings. Architectural, electrical and mechanical drawings shall clearly note impact on or changes to the existing building systems and utilities. Determine if the existing raceway/conduit system can be expanded or modified to provide the required performance or if a complete new system should be installed. Submit a report with recommendations for upgrade or replacement complete with options and cost estimates for both. Drawings shall be done using Auto cad Release 12. 3. Contract Drawings & Specifications - prepare a complete set of drawings for the site prep for telephone replacement including or the site prep for trequired notes, details, legends, location of equipment, etc. Review and include all applicable specification sections from the VA and EIA/TIA standards. Indicate phasing plan. 4. Construction Period Services - Review all contractor submitted on Period Services - Rinformation required by the contract and submit comments/recommendations. Provide cost estimates, sketches and language for add/credit changes to the construction contract. Provide coordination,review and consultation services through completion of project. 5. Site Visits - Perform site visits/inspections to insure work is being completed in accordance with contract requirements. Furnish site visit reports. The primary factors for consideration are: 1.) Current SF254/255. 2) Specialized experience in telephone projects in type and magnitude which have been completed within the last 5 years. 3) Must have CAD capability and capacity 4) Must have worked in a healthcare/hospital setting 5) Past experience 6) Firm's capacity and current workload 7) Favorable references 8) Experience of consultants and past working experience/relationship 9) Past performance on contracts with Government agencies and private industry in terms of cost control, changes, quality of work and compliance with performance schedules.
